Samurai Spirits IV in Playstation version.

Another SNK's attempt at Playstation. Although not arcade perfect, it is a faithful conversion, something which cannot be said for. There's lots more animation in SSVI, less slowdown, and better loading time compared to the previous versions. In addition, if you want to decrease the loading even more, you can choose to cut most of the animation scenes. Only charactor's name will be shown in the VS screen. ss4.jpg (10811 bytes)
charactors.jpg (11425 bytes) And additional charactor Cham Cham, who is missing from other versions of SSIV, is added in PSX version. Another hidden charactor, as you may already know him, Zankuro is still remain in this version. They are available only in VS mode. Also exclusive to the PSX version is a nifty training mode.

The music in this version is wonderful. Sound in classical Japanese string instruments occasionally clashing with electric guitars. Cool! SNK has just made a new change in the music options, you can play the music portion of the CD in options mode.

The graphics are much better than the PSX version of Samurai Shodown III, where the frames of animation were probably cut in half. In SSIV. ss4a.jpg (10615 bytes)    ss4b.jpg (8273 bytes)
ss4c.jpg (12285 bytes) How about the gameplay? Well, well, better than SSIII, that is what I can say. It is as nice as the arcade version, , no slow down during game play, which happened in PSX SSIII. An additional supper combo is added, similar to tekken combo, which is no full power required. The moves can be found on the moves list.

Overall, PSX Samurai Showdown VI is definitely worth to play with. Every Samurai fan must try this great game.
